Mark Allan

Mark Allan has been a professional performer working throughout Canada and the U.S for the last 18 years; he appears with the permission of Canadian Actors’ Equity Association. Originally from Ottawa, Ontario, he now calls Toronto his home. Last year he was nominated by Broadwayworld.com for Best Actor in a Musical for the role of Jeff in [title of show]. Some other notable credits include Leo Bloom in “The Producers”, Tobias in “Sweeney Todd”, Jinx in “Forever Plaid”, Malcolm in “The Full Monty”, and as Christopher Wren in North America’s longest running play “The Mousetrap”. This is Marks first time out east, and he can’t wait to perform for you all!! Enjoy the show!!

Janet Bartlett

Janet’s involvement in the theatre goes all the way back to her staring role as the Sad Little Pumpkin in her grade four Halloween play. Since then she has earned her BFA in Stagecraft from Sir Wilfred Grenfell College and gone on to stage manage various shows including Jack Five Oh (Artistic Fraud), The Diary of Anne Frank (Art of Rao) and the Welcoming Ceremonies for HRH The Prince of Wales.
Janet is thrilled to be working with the Stephenville Theatre Festival.

David Bennett

A seasoned veteran of STF, Dave, is returning for his 8th season. The well known multi instrumentalist will be utilizing his skills in the technical department this year, but not to worry, you can also see Dave and his instruments in our production of “Headin’ West”.

Roy Berti

An adopted Newfoundlander and a 2 time cancer survivor, Roy has over 30 years performing and recording history nationally and internationally. He’s taught and mentored hundreds of young drummers during his career and is in great demand with local bands. Now the ranking veteran of STF, he’s appearing in several shows during his 11th season!

Michael DawsonDirector: British Invasion and Headin’ West

The Dawson family is known in the BSG area for their concerts to support
the BSG Sick Children’s Foundation. Michael has had a life long interest in the performing arts and since his retirement he has become involved in the Stephenville Theatre Festival currently serving as its chair. After last years success with Woodstock, Michael decided with the help of his wife Violet to push the envelope and create and direct two musical shows, British Invasion and Headin’ West.

Violet DawsonWriter: British Invasion, Headin’ West and the Gala ” A Night at the Movies”

Violet, who was born and raised in Seal Rocks, Nfld., is well know in the Bay St George area as the creator of the St Georges Blueberry Festival, and Chief of the St Georges Indian Band. This past year Violet wrote the scripts for the Stephenville Theatre Festival Christmas Country Show and a musical show called Temptation. This year Violet volunteered to collaborate with her husband, Michael and wrote the scripts for the three musicals, British Invasion, Headin’ West which will both be directed by Michael and the Gala which will be directed by the Artistic Producer, Keith Pike.

Patrick Foran

Patrick (God of Carnage, British Invasion) is delighted to join such a talented and exciting company in Stephenville. Credits included Twelfth Night (Driftwood), The Corpse Bride (Theatre PaNik), Write from the Hip (Nightwood), The Baker’s Wife, Laius, The Relapse, Misalliance, Salt Water Moon (George Brown), Brilliant Traces (New Curtain), No Man’s Land, A Nobleman’s Wedding, Pirates of Penzance, Let’s Bring on our Favourite: The Joan Morrisey Show (Rising Tide), MacBeth, Love’s Labours Lost, Hamlet (Shakespeare by the Sea, NL), four seasons with Spirit of Newfoundland. Laura Henley

A graduate of Memorial University with a double major in Business Administration and Arts (French), Laura has also been involved in theatre for many years; dancing, producing and stage managing. Mostly recently, she performed in “West Side Story” and stage managed “Fame!” (Theatre St. John’s) Laura plans on applying to the MA in Event Production program at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama this fall. Many thanks to Keith, the cast & crew, for sharing this awesome experience and to my Mom for her endless support!

Gail Hickey

Gail is very excited to be a part of the 2011 summer season, her fifth year with STF. A native of St.George’s, Gail is a graduate of Western College’s Accounting, Payroll, and Business Administration program. When not working, Gail spends most of her time with her son Matthew; she is looking forward to another great learning experience and a fun summer!

Trevor Hinks

Trevor Hinks, who is a former employee of the Community Education Network has been entertaining young and old for the past 16 years. His love for music began at the age of four and since then he has developed multiple musical talents which has led to many excellent opportunities such as participating in the Stephenville Theater Festival and playing many festivals and events with his band Fairly New. Trevor is very happy to be performing for you tonight along with wonderfully talented friends Ginger Bennett, Jennifer Dawson- Hobbs, Evan Smith and Candice Locke.

Jennifer Dawson Hobbs

Jennifer Dawson-Hobbs – Returning for her 6th Season with STF, she is thrilled to be back again this summer and to just be a part of it all. Past productions include Woodstock, Country Roadhouse, ABBA the Music, Outlaws and Poets and Blackbird. You can see your home grown girl this season in Headin’ West, British Invasion and her one night stand on July 27th.

Mallory Johnson

Mallory Johnson is from Conception Bay South, and is currently a student at Memorial University. As part of the Celtic family group “The Cormiers”, she has received 6 MusicNL awards since 2005, and an ECMA nomination in 2008. Apart from the band, she has performed in many local musical productions with Spirit of Newfoundland, Theatre St. John’s, Peter Mcdonald Productions and Best Kind Productions. This is her first time performing in the Stephenville Theatre Festival and she is so excited to help showcase the talent Newfoundland has to offer!

Sharon King-Campbell

Sharon King-Campbell has a BFA in Theatre from Sir Wilfred Grenfell College and is now a St. John’s-based actor, director, writer and producer. Recent directing credits include /Ismene/ (Rabbittown/MUN Drama), /Adrift/ (World’s End/Fathom), /Speaking of Which/ (World’s End) and /52 Pickup/ (Ahrm’s Way). Sharon is the founding Artistic Director
of the World’s End Theatre Company.

Tricia Lackey

A graduate of the Music Theatre Performance Program at Sheridan College, Tricia’s directing credits include: Assassins (Real World & Theatre Sheridan), Cabaret, A New Brain (Theatre Sheridan), Playing Opposite (Real World), Butterflies Are Free (Highlands Summer Festival), Sunday in the Park with George (ArcheTheatre), The Who’s Tommy (Platinum Theatre), 110 in the Shade, & Triumph of Love (Assistant Director, Theatre Sheridan). She was also Artist in Residence at the Charlottetown Festival in 2010. Big thanks to Keith, Janet, the cast & my family for inspiration and endless laughs.

Danny Malena

Danny is stoked to be a part of Stephenville Theatre Festival! He recently moved to Toronto after completing a two year
program at the Canadian College of Performing Arts last year. Credits include “Ryan” in “High School Musical On Stage”, “Autolycus” in A “Winter’s Tale”, and “Paul” in “Kiss Me Kate”. Much love to mom, dad, Jake, and the whole gang!

Cara Pantalone

Cara caught the acting bug when she stared as Cirrus the Cloud in the elementary school hit “Weather you like it or not” and hasn’t looked back since. Originally from Ottawa, Stittsville to be specific, Cara moved to Toronto to study music theatre at the Randolph Centre for the Performing arts where she now teaches in the kids program. As an actor/improviser her favourite credits include; Seussical the Musical, The Full Monty, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and the Canadian Comedy award nominated Troubadour. Many thanks to Keith and Trish for giving her the opportunity to perform with this wonderful theatre festival!! Love always to mom, dad, coolbro, jen, baby pants and of course to my husband to be Logan!! Enjoy the show.

Keith Pike

Artistic Producer, Keith Pike is a graduate of Sheridan College’s prestigious Musical Theatre Performance Program and has performed, directed and choreographed over 50 productions in the past 8 years, including shows with the 2002 Juno Awards and The Charlottetown Festival.

For the past 5 summers Keith has spent his time working with The Stephenville Theatre Festival. Favourite credits include: Variations on a Nervous Breakdown, Grease, and Nunsense. He also directed the critically acclaimed production of Proof. This summer he will be playing the role of Artistic Producer with the festival. He is looking forward to the opportunity to bring the Festival to new heights.

Keith is also Founder and Artistic Producer of Theatre St. John’s, a new theatre company in historical St. John’s, Newfoundland, that is committed to producing professional quality theatre. He has directed with TSJ: Songs for a New World and the acclaimed Little Women – The Broadway Musical.

Other TSJ shows include: Salt Water Moon directed by Petrina Bromley, an Evening with Andrew Lloyd Webber and Sondheim by the Sea.

Nicole Power

Nicole Power Woman 1 (Songs for a New World) Annette (God of Carnage)A proud Newfoundlander, it is a dream come true for Nicole to be back at home doing what she loves. A graduate of the Sheridan College Musical Theatre Performance Program, previous credits include; West Side Story,Wizard of Oz (Neptune Theatre), Pinkalicious! The Musical (Vital Theatre Company), Metamorphoses, Anything Goes, Cabaret (Theatre Sheridan), Macbeth (SBTS) and Stealing Mary – History Television. Huge thanks to Keith, Trish, Evan, Janet and the rest of the cast/crew for making this such an amazing and inspiring summer and her family for their continuous love and support. For Uncle Tom xo.

Keith Roberts

Keith Roberts is very excited to be working for the first time with the Stephenville Theatre Festival, and with so many talented people and artists. He has had a busy fall and winter, participating in five major productions; Hairspray (Set Design), The Sound of Music (Lead Role), Scrooge (Lead Role), Title of Show (Set Design), and Fame (Set Design).

Paige Robson-Cramer

Paige is so excited to be performing in this year’s season of the Stephenville Theatre Festival, not to mention visiting Newfoundland for the first time ever! Originally from the opposite coast, Victoria, B.C., Paige has been living in Toronto since graduating from the Music-Theatre Program at Sheridan College. Previous credits include: the Canadian premiere/Dora nominated production of PARADE (Acting Up Stage/Studio 180), ALECK BELL (Iana Theatre Company), THE PRODUCERS (Stage West Mississauga), first workshop, and production of MY SIDE OFTHE COUNTRY (Scriptlab), BRIGADOON, A NEW BRAIN, URINETOWN (Theatre Sheridan). Endless love and gratitude go out to former teachers, Mom, Dad, Bro, friends, and Dustin. Enjoy the show!

Jennifer Rose

Jennifer is very excited to be a part of the 2011 summer season, her first year with STF. A native of Port au Port Peninsula, Jennifer is a graduate of Western College’s Accounting, Payroll, and Business Administration program. When not working, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her new husband Shawn, and her son Jacob; she is looking forward to a great learning experience and a fun summer!

Bill Simms

Bill Simms is a multi-instrumentalist, singer, and songwriter from Massey Drive NL. After graduating high school, he attended College of the North Atlantic’s Music Industry & Performance and Recording Arts programs where he received multiple awards. Bill’s recent work includes writing and performing original compositions, playing guitar and singing in the cover band “KJ and Bill”, playing double bass alongside guitarist Scott Jennings and composing and recording music for a short film.

Evan Smith

Currently completing a Bachelor of Music in voice at Memorial University, Evan is very excited to be home for his 5th season with the Festival. Stephenville audiences have enjoyed Evan in such shows as California Dreamin’, Little Shop of Horrors as the man-eating plant, and Woodstock. This year you will find him behind the keys and microphone in Headin’ West and British Invasion while musical directing both Songs for a New World and If You Could Wear My Sneakers. Evan is also featured once again this year as a solo performer in his own show, A Night with Evan Smith. This music filled night will feature numerous members of the STF cast and songs by Elton John, Billy Joel, John Denver, and your favourite Broadway standards! Most of all, Evan is thrilled to be working side by side with his ‘brother’, Gavin Tucker, for whom he could not have more respect and love!

Iain Stewart

Iain is so excited to be here in this beautiful province working with these wonderful people. Iain is a recent graduate of the Sheridan Music-Theatre Program in Oakville and now lives in Toronto. Past credits include: Mozart in “Amadeus”, Prince Dauntless in “Once Upon A Mattress”, Mike in “A Chorus Line”, Perchik in “Fiddler on the Roof”, Musical Director for “Side by Side”, by Sondheim, Charlie Brown in “You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown” (for Blockhead Production in which he is Co-founder and Producer) and most recently he played Davey Herold in “Assassins” for Real World Productions for which he had the great pleasure of working with Tricia Lackey and is very grateful to be working with her again in “God of Carnage”. He would like to thank both Keith and Trish for believing in him and giving him this amazing opportunity.

Jeff Sullivan

Jeff Sullivan is a recent graduate from Mount Pearl Senior High and is ecstatic to receive the opportunity to perform in this summers Stephenville Theatre Festival. Jeff has been performing since an early age starting in elementary school whether it was school choirs or school plays and musicals. This innocent interest in the arts propelled him to where he is today and the numerous shows, performances, and experiences he has acquired through this passion. Some of his most recent credits include: The Cat in the Hat from ‘Seussical the Musical’, Bernardo from ‘West Side Story’, Ralph Herdman from ‘The Best Little Newfoundland Christmas Pageant Ever’, and Nick Piazza from ‘Fame the Musical’. Jeff also received this past summer, a scholarship to attend the New York Film Academy this upcoming September directly after high school. He will be enrolled until February 2013 and in that time is excited to expand on his craft, learn, and audition for everything that comes his way. These shows are going to be blast so sit back, relax, enjoy, and let us entertain you!

Gavin Tucker

Gavin is delighted to be here for his 6th STF season, playing and musical directing several shows. A former grad of the Music Industry and Performance and Recording Arts Program at CNA; he has just finished his diploma of Jazz studies at STFX. Gavin has had a world of fun doing shows such as “ABBA”, “Dancin in the Street”, “Fleetwood Mac”, “Rave on”, “Menopositive” and more.

    We took our kids to see If you Could Wear my Sneakers yesterday. It was fabulous! We have two three year olds and a 8 year old, and they all loved it. Anyone with kids have to get down there and see that show. Your children will love it!

    My granddaughter has seen the show twice and each time has been totally captivated! Such an exceptional cast – they are engaging and they stay after the show to speak with the children. Bravo!
